Terms of use
Effective October 13, 2026 for accounts created after it was posted that day, and from October 28, 2026 for accounts created before. Until then, the previous version applies to those accounts, unless they start using auto-apply or AI answers sooner: this version applies to them from that moment. Updated October 24, 2026: agreeing to employers' application terms and the declarations an application requires for you unless you turn it off, typing your name where a form asks you to sign, and AI answers to a form's later steps (Auto-apply).
These are the rules for using SnugCV. They cover your account, credits and subscriptions, what you can and cannot do with the Service, how AI-generated documents and auto-apply work, and the legal terms that apply.
1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and SnugCV ("SnugCV", "we", "us"), operated by its founder as a sole proprietorship based in Texas, United States. They govern your use of the website at snugcv.com, the SnugCV browser extension and any related services (together, the "Service").
By creating an account, installing the extension or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
2. The Service
SnugCV lets you build a professional profile from your resume, generate resumes and cover letters tailored to specific job postings with the help of AI, download them as PDFs, and track your job applications. The browser extension brings these tools to job boards you browse. On the Auto-apply and Auto-apply Max plans, auto-apply can also submit job applications for you once you approve each one (see "Auto-apply").
We may add, change or remove features, or discontinue the Service, at any time. We will give reasonable notice of changes that materially reduce what paid plans include.
3. Your account
- Provide accurate information when you register and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password and extension access tokens confidential. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.
- One person per account. Do not share accounts or create accounts for others without their permission.
- You may close your account at any time from Settings or by emailing us.
4. Plans, credits and payments
Free accounts receive a limited number of tailoring credits. One credit pays for one tailored resume or one cover letter. Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred. Credits we give for free, such as at signup or for an invite, may expire or change as described on the pricing page.
You can also buy credits in packs. A credit pack is a one-off payment, not a subscription. It does not renew, and its credits never expire.
The paid plans are Pro, Auto-apply and Auto-apply Max. Each is a recurring monthly subscription billed in advance through Stripe at the price shown when you subscribe, and each includes everything in Pro. An account can have one paid plan at a time. Paid plans renew automatically each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from Settings; you keep your plan until the end of the period you have paid for, and you will not be charged again.
You can move to a more expensive paid plan at any time. It starts that day, with a new billing period. The unused part of your old plan is credited against the new price, and you pay the difference at once. The amount is shown before you confirm.
If you move to a cheaper paid plan, the change waits until the end of the period you have paid for. You keep your current plan and what it includes until then, and the cheaper plan and its price apply from your next billing period. You can call off a change that is waiting from Settings. While a change is waiting, call it off before you cancel.
On a paid plan, tailoring does not use your credits until you pass the fair-use limit below. Your credits stay in your account, including after you cancel.
Prices are shown before you pay and may change with notice; changes apply from your next billing period. Any taxes required by law are added at checkout.
Refunds: if you ask within 14 days of your first payment for a plan, and you have used less than 10% of what the plan includes, we refund that payment in full. Unused credits from a credit pack can be refunded if you ask within 14 days of buying the pack. Otherwise, payments are non-refundable, except where the law requires a refund. To ask for a refund, email support@snugcv.com. Refunded pack credits are removed from your account. If something went wrong on our side, for example a generation that failed and consumed a credit, contact us and we will put it right.
Fair use: paid plans are for personal job searching. In each billing period, a paid plan includes up to 125 tailored resumes and cover letters that you make yourself. The ones auto-apply makes for your applications don't count, and neither do generations that fail. Past 125, each one uses a credit if you have any. If you have none, tailoring pauses until your next billing period starts. A paid Pro subscription that started before October 13, 2026 has no fair-use limit for as long as it stays active.
We may also apply rate limits to keep the Service reliable for everyone, and may suspend accounts that get around them by sharing access or by using bots, scrapers or other automated access to SnugCV itself. Using SnugCV's own auto-apply does not count as automated access.
5. Inviting friends
Any account can share a personal invite link. A new account created within the stated window after opening that link receives the bonus tailoring credits shown on the invite page, and the account that shared the link receives bonus credits once the new account finishes its first tailored resume, up to the limit shown on the invite page. Each new account counts once and is attributed to one link; if an affiliate link also applies, the affiliate link takes precedence and no invite credits are given.
Invite credits are tailoring credits like any other: they have no cash value and cannot be transferred. Inviting yourself, creating accounts to collect credits, or sending invites in bulk to people who did not ask for them is not allowed, and we may remove credits earned that way or close the accounts involved.
6. Promo codes
We sometimes publish promo codes. A new account can use one in its first 7 days, by typing it at signup or on the Auto-apply page, or by opening the code's link. A code gives the number of free auto-apply applications shown with it, for the number of days shown, counted from the moment it is used. They are prepared and sent the same way as on the plans with auto-apply (see "Auto-apply"), and any left at the end of those days expire. If you subscribe to a plan with auto-apply before then, you keep the ones left until the same day, used after your plan's own applications.
One code per account and one per person. Codes have no cash value and cannot be exchanged, transferred or combined. Each code has a limit and an end date, and we may pause or end a code at any time; accounts that already used it keep what it gave them. Creating accounts to collect codes is not allowed, and we may remove free applications obtained that way or close the accounts involved.
7. Affiliate program
Approved affiliates receive a referral link and earn a commission on payments made by customers they refer, at the rate and for the period stated on the Earn page at the time of the referral. A referral is attributed when a visitor signs up within the stated cookie window after clicking the link; attribution is made once and is not transferred.
Commissions become payable after the refund window shown on the Earn page has passed, are reduced by refunds and chargebacks, and are paid on the stated schedule once the minimum balance is reached. Self-referrals, paid advertising on the SnugCV name, misleading claims, and any referral obtained in breach of these terms earn no commission, and we may pause or close an affiliate account for such conduct. Affiliates are responsible for their own taxes; we may request tax forms before paying out.
Promotion rules. Every promotion of SnugCV must state clearly that you earn a commission, placed where people will see it before they click and, in video, both spoken and shown on screen. You may not promote SnugCV on coupon, deal or cashback sites. You may not claim or imply that SnugCV guarantees interviews, callbacks, offers or any other outcome, or that it produces or improves an applicant tracking system "score". You may not offer money, gifts or any other incentive for signing up, other than the bonus credits SnugCV itself gives to people who join through your link. We may pause or close an affiliate account that breaks these rules, and we may withhold or reverse commissions where we reasonably suspect fraud, including many referred accounts from one network or device, unusual signup patterns, or a spike in refunds.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload resumes or other content that you do not have the right to use, or that contains someone else's personal data without their permission.
- Use the Service to create documents that misrepresent your qualifications or identity to employers.
- Break the law, infringe intellectual property or privacy rights, or upload malicious code.
- Scrape, crawl or copy the Service, reverse engineer it, or probe its security other than through responsible disclosure to us.
- Interfere with the Service or other users, or circumvent credits, rate limits or access controls.
- Resell or offer the Service to third parties without our written permission.
9. Your content
You own the resumes, profile data, job descriptions, notes and other content you provide ("Your Content"), and the documents generated from them for your use. You are responsible for its accuracy and for your right to use it.
So that we can run the Service, you grant SnugCV a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, transmit and display Your Content, including sending it to our AI and hosting providers, solely to provide and improve the Service for you. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in backups that are removed on their normal schedule.
Job postings you capture from third-party sites remain the property of their respective owners. You are responsible for complying with those sites' terms when you use the extension.
10. AI-generated content
Tailored resumes and cover letters are generated by AI models from Your Content and the job description. We instruct the models not to invent experience, but AI output can still be wrong, incomplete or unsuitable. You must review every document before you send it yourself. With auto-apply, approving an application means you accept the documents sent with it (see "Auto-apply"). You are solely responsible for what you send to employers.
SnugCV does not guarantee that using the Service will lead to interviews, offers or employment, and we do not act as a recruiter or employment agency.
11. Auto-apply
Auto-apply is part of the Auto-apply and Auto-apply Max plans, and comes free for a few days with some promo codes (see "Promo codes"). It prepares applications for the postings you choose, and the browser extension fills and submits each one in your own browser, only after you approve it.
You are responsible for every application submitted in your name, and for keeping your profile and saved answers accurate. Each application is sent with the answers prepared for it, your profile details and saved answers for any questions those answers don't cover, and the resume (and any cover letter) SnugCV tailored for that job. When you approve an application, you accept what is sent with it, including documents finished after you approve.
If you turn on AI answers, the answers the AI writes are drafts. You approve them with the application, whether you check each one first or have them used automatically. Used automatically, they include answers to questions a form shows only after one of its steps, which SnugCV fills while it sends the application you approved, without showing them to you first.
We do not guarantee that an application will be submitted successfully, that the employer will receive it, or that it will lead to an interview. Job sites change, and some refuse automatic submissions. When SnugCV cannot confirm that an application went through, it tells you so you can check on the site.
Employers and job sites have their own terms, and those terms apply to the applications you send them.
Unless you turn off "Agree to employers' application terms for me" in Settings, SnugCV ticks, in your name, the boxes an application form requires to accept that employer's terms of use or privacy notice for the application, to confirm that your answers are true, or to agree to or declare anything else the application requires, such as a background, credit or drug check, arbitration, a non-compete, or that you are free to take the job. Each is an agreement between you and that employer, as if you had ticked it yourself. SnugCV never ticks a box for you that signs you up for marketing, alerts or text messages, adds you to a talent community or to future openings, or asks for your signature, and a box stating your age or your right to work is ticked only when your own answers say so. Each application lists the boxes ticked for you. You can turn this off at any time in Settings; applications already sent keep what was agreed.
When an application form asks you to sign by typing your name, SnugCV types the name in your SnugCV profile as your electronic signature, and the date where the form asks for it, then submits the form after you approve the application and press "Apply". That signature is yours, as if you had typed it yourself, and it signs what the form asks you to sign. A signature SnugCV can't type, such as your initials, is left for you: the extension fills in the rest of the form and leaves it open for you to sign and submit.
The Auto-apply plan includes 100 applications in each billing period, and the Auto-apply Max plan includes 300. An application counts against this allowance when the job site confirms it was sent, or when you mark it as applied yourself. Applications you don't use do not carry over to the next period, and credits cannot be used for applications. The app shows how many you have left.
A prepared application is one SnugCV has started tailoring a resume for. In each billing period, you can remove prepared applications up to 20% of your allowance (20 on Auto-apply, 60 on Auto-apply Max) without using any. Each prepared application you remove after that counts as one application used. Removing an application that isn't prepared yet never counts.
12. Browser extension
The extension is licensed to you for personal use on your own devices under these Terms and the terms of the store you install it from. It reads job postings on supported job boards and job application forms on the pages you visit. It reads other pages only when you click its icon. When you use auto-apply, it also opens and reads the posting and application pages of the jobs you choose to apply to. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, Greenhouse, Lever, Workday or any other job board. Those sites may change in ways that stop the extension from working, and we do not guarantee compatibility.
13. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, templates, text, logos and trademarks, is owned by SnugCV or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. Except for the rights expressly granted in these Terms, we reserve all rights. You may not use our name or logos without our written permission.
If you send us feedback or suggestions, you agree we may use them without any obligation to you.
14. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties such as Anthropic, Vercel, Neon and Stripe, and links to third-party websites including job boards. We are not responsible for their content, availability or practices. Your use of them is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
15. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SNUGCV DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR SECURE, OR THAT GENERATED DOCUMENTS WILL BE ACCURATE OR ACHIEVE ANY RESULT.
16. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SNUGCV AND ITS OWNER WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST OPPORTUNITIES, LOSS OF DATA OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS, HOWEVER CAUSED AND UNDER ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM AND (B) FIFTY US DOLLARS (US$50).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
17. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless SnugCV and its owner from any claims, damages, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
18. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if continuing to provide the Service to you creates risk for us or other users. Where reasonable we will tell you why and give you a chance to fix the problem.
On termination your right to use the Service ends. Sections that by their nature should survive (including Your Content licenses needed to wind down, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification and governing law) will survive.
19. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Where you are a consumer in a jurisdiction whose law gives you the right to bring claims in your local courts or under your local law, nothing here takes that right away.
Before filing a claim, please email support@snugcv.com so we can try to resolve it with you directly.
20. Changes to these terms
We may change these Terms at any time. We post the new version here with its effective date at the top of this page. Changes take effect on that date, which is the day we post them unless we choose a later one. For significant changes we also tell you by email or in the app. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and cancel any subscription you have.
21. General
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and SnugCV about the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
