Can it make up experience I don't have?
No. The AI only receives your real profile and can only reword or reorder what is in it. The finished resume is assembled by code from that profile, so a skill, title or employer you never entered has no way in. It is still your resume: read it before you send it, and edit any line you wouldn't say out loud in an interview.
Is it free to try?
Your first 5 tailored resumes are free and need no card. Each resume or cover letter uses one credit. When your credits run out, you can buy 10 credits for $9 or 100 for $49. Bought credits never expire. Or go Pro for $24.99 a month for unlimited tailoring, cover letters and autofill, with a fair-use limit of 125 documents a month.
Will it sound like a robot wrote it?
It starts from your own bullets and rewrites them in the posting's words, so it reads like your resume, aimed at this job. You see every change, and every line is editable before you download the PDF.
What does SnugCV change on my resume?
SnugCV changes your summary, the order of your skills and the wording of your bullets, using the language of the posting you give it. Employers, titles, dates and education are copied from your profile by code, so they stay exactly as you entered them. Every change comes with a note on what it was and why.
Does it work for my field?
Yes. SnugCV works for any field and any level, from nursing and teaching to retail, trades and engineering. It reads the requirements, keywords and tone of the posting and matches them to your own experience.
What happens to my resume and my data?
Your resume is stored in your account and encrypted in transit and at rest. To write a tailored document, SnugCV sends the relevant parts of your profile and the job description to its AI provider, which does not use that data to train its models. SnugCV never sells your data or shares your resume, jobs or documents with advertisers; the only thing Meta learns is that you signed up, so we can measure our own ads. You can delete your account and everything in it from Settings.
Do I need the Chrome extension?
No. You can paste a job description into the web app and get the tailored resume there. The extension saves the copying: it sits beside the posting on LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, Greenhouse, Lever and Workday, and on any other page when you click its icon.
Can SnugCV fill in the application form for me?
Autofill is part of Pro. When you click Autofill application in the SnugCV panel, it fills the form in your browser from your profile and the answers you saved earlier, and attaches the resume and cover letter you tailored for that job. It never submits anything. You check the form and press submit yourself.
What is auto-apply?
Auto-apply finds jobs that match your profile and tailors a resume for each application. It sends only the ones you approve, from your own browser. It comes with two plans, and both include everything in Pro: Auto-apply at $49.99 a month for 100 applications, and Auto-apply Max at $99.99 a month for 300.
What if the posting asks for something I haven't done?
SnugCV won't add it. It shows you which keywords from the posting your profile already covers, and uses the posting's wording for the experience you do have. The skills you don't have stay off your resume, and you decide whether the role is worth applying to.
Does it write cover letters?
Yes. A cover letter is written from the same profile and the same posting as the resume. On the free plan, a cover letter uses one credit, like a resume. Pro and both Auto-apply plans include them.
What do I need to get started?
Your current resume as a PDF. SnugCV turns it into a structured profile with your roles, achievements, skills and education, and you can edit anything in it before you tailor. Most people have a first tailored resume in about three minutes.
